About Tammy

I have a good friend who says, “I want to leave people better than I found them.” It’s a statement I can really connect with, both personally and professionally. I want our clients to feel confident about their financial futures and to move forward toward the things they hope to accomplish in their lives.

As a senior advisor in Traverse City, I work with a wide range of clients. Many of them are women – widows, divorcees, or business owners. I have a soft spot for people who take charge of their financial lives, whether by choice or circumstance. It gives me the chance to teach them things and offer educational opportunities they may have never encountered.

Ironically, I was a music major in college, and my end goal was to be a music teacher. My love for music remains – I sing and play piano for fun to this day, though I eventually switched my major to business. Thankfully, I do get to teach in my current role, it’s just not music!

My path to Beck Bode is through Intentional Wealth Advisors, LLC, (IWA) which merged with Beck Bode in 2022. Before I became a financial advisor, I worked in banking for a long time. I started at the bottom and worked my way into management. Brian Ursu, the founder of IWA, was a banking client of mine. He would often ask me to join his firm, and in 2014 I finally did. What drew me to Brian was his integrity and the way he cares for his clients. I feel that same care from the team at Beck Bode. Everyone I have met is genuine and kind. They are good listeners and they made us feel welcome from the start. The combination of our teams will be great for our clients: they will have even more resources available to them.

When I’m not with clients I enjoy cooking for family and friends. Our house is always full of kids, their friends and ours. I like to boat, sing, play piano, walk, or hike, and enjoy this beautiful area we call home.

I serve on two non-profit boards. One of them, Impact Traverse City, is a non-profit that mobilizes women to transform our community through collective giving. We invite 100 women to each donate $1,000.Then together we award a $100,000 grant to one northern Michigan non-profit. Since 2017 we have raised $1.7 million! The other organization I support is called Maidens of Michigan. It is also a giving circle, but on a smaller scale.

My desire to give back was instilled by my mom and dad. I grew up in a house where we were always thinking of helping others. Giving back and being close with family are important parts of my life.
